Glow bowling (also known as cosmic bowling) is a bowling experience under blacklights and neon colors – the lanes, pins, and balls all glow! At Big Play Atlanta, every evening is glow bowling time. We typically turn on the full glow effects after a certain hour (and during special events or parties upon request). If you come during daytime, you’ll still enjoy our modern lanes and big screens, but for the full audio/visual glow experience, plan for an evening visit when the lights go down and the energy goes up.

We welcome walk-ins, but on busy nights and weekends our lanes can fill up fast (remember, we have 16 lanes). To guarantee your spot – especially if you have a group or specific time in mind – we highly recommend reserving a lane online or by phone. Our online reservation system is quick and easy​, and it lets you skip any waiting once you arrive. For parties and large groups, definitely book ahead so we can prepare for your crew and set everything up perfectly.

Up to 6 players can comfortably bowl on a single lane at Big Play. If you have more people, no worries – we’ll simply assign additional adjacent lanes so your group can all play side by side. For example, if you have 10 people, you might reserve 2 lanes and split 5 and 5. We’ll make sure your lanes are together. Larger parties can rent a whole cluster of lanes or even the whole bowling area (ask us about full facility buy-out options for mega-events!).

Absolutely! We are a family-friendly venue through and through​. Children of any age can bowl with us – we have lightweight balls and bumpers to accommodate them. We do ask that an adult accompany and supervise kids for safety. Also, our arcade and kid-friendly menu items (pizza, ice cream, etc.) make Big Play a hit with the youngsters. Whether it’s a five-year-old’s first time bowling or a middle-school outing, we make it fun and safe for kiddos. There’s no age too young to enjoy bowling here (if they can pick up a ball, they can play!).

Yes, we provide bowling shoe rentals on-site (in all sizes, toddler to adult). Bowling shoes are required on our lanes to protect the approaches, so everyone will need to either rent our shoes or bring their own bowling shoes. If you’re an avid bowler with your own gear – shoes, ball, etc. – feel free to bring them! We also have a small pro-shop area in case you want to purchase accessories or even your own glow-in-the-dark bowling ball as a souvenir.

We are primarily focused on casual play and private events, but we love our bowling enthusiasts! As a newer center, we’re gauging interest for bowling leagues. If you and your friends are league bowlers, tell us – we may start hosting leagues (like a weekly night league) in the near future. We do occasionally host fun tournaments or theme nights (for example, a Halloween glow bowl costume contest, or a family tournament). Of course! While bowling is the centerpiece of Big Play Entertainment, you’re welcome to enjoy any of our attractions à la carte. If the arcade or laser tag is calling your name, come on in. However, to get the full Big Play experience, we highly recommend trying a bit of everything. Many guests pair a round of bowling with some arcade fun. Keep in mind, our most popular deals bundle activities (for example, a combo that includes bowling plus arcade credits at a discount). So make sure to ask about specials at the front desk!
